We're delighted to welcome you all to our club's website.
We are a small club located on the Southern Downs of Queensland in the township of Allora. Whether your passion is for chickens, ducks, geese or turkeys, people just love chatting about their birds, and that in a nutshell is what we would like our website to be all about.
The club has been in existence in it's present state for approximately 8 years and in that time we have experienced many highs with the exciting auctions we hold and the many encouraging entries we receive for our shows and a sad low with the loss of a dearly respected member, Mr George Garton.
Each year we award the George Garton Memorial Trophy for the best Hard Feather Bantam at our annual Bird Show held each year in July. The inaugeral winner of this trophy was J. Stumer with a Pitt Game Plain Cock.
Over recent years there has been a resurgance in keeping poultry, either in the backyard or for breeding and showing. Our club operates from the Poultry Pavilion at the well facilitated Allora Show Grounds. We are currently raising funds to allow us to expand our building to accommodate the increasing number of entries that we see at our shows.
Our membership is currently $10:00 per person or $ 15:00 for a family. Juniors pay only $ 5:00. Annual memberships are due at our Annual General Meeting which is held in August each year.
If you have any questions or would like to make contact with our club, please use the information located on the contacts page.
We look forward to meeting you at one of our many functions in the future.
